I also grew up in Steynsburg and think this is a nice fictional story and a way of attracting tourist. I however have hear many ghost stories during my years staying in Steynsburg and going to school at Paul Kruger high school

The pass name is Kromhoogte, and the tar road is fairly new, it used to go along the railwayline at the other side of the little mountain. I know many an accident has taken place on the new road about that time of the day, but that was usually deer jumping out of the bushes. The little hospital is not equipped for operations, the museum has not and never had a curator, it is not even open most of the time. Apart from the deer the booze is also responsible for a lot of accidents. With one thing I agree, although dying, Steynsburg is the most beautiful littel EC town

We were neighbours, Annelize.
This is just someone ’s fantasy.
The author did not stay in Steynsburg. It is the Suurberg and not Skuurberg. And the picture at the top is misleading. Steynsburg are many hours from the see.
This is just a “spookstorie” , like so many others we have heard as we grew up on Van Rooy Street.

I Grown up in Steynsburg and it is the first time that I heard of the Story of the Vampire. Can you give me more information. I have been visited the museum also and haven’t notice anything on this story. Can you give dates etc.
